Apparu!

It was a pleasure to work with Eliza Minikaeva on her song on the analysis of a Tatar song Юк, ярамый. The project took us on journey.

As we familiarized ourselves with Tatar and word by word worked through the lyrics, we discovered the positive message the song has, especially for creative people. It is also the case for our project Apparu! We get tired, we ask would anyone need it. Is it all just in vain. Until we realize that we allow other people’s opinions chase us away or take us down.

Tatar was the first language we considered outside of Chuvash but we also had no luck with artists. They never even cared to return our messages. And then this song comes along, and Eliza was very helpful and welcoming. We thank her for this song, as it made us reflect on our evolution as a channel.

Apparently, Tatar has the Persian word Ходай, which occurs in other Turkic languages as well, notably Turkmen. But we realized we haven’t paying attention to Turkish which also has Hüda, a word so archaic that many won’t guess it’s meaning. However it’s derivative ‘hüdai’ which translates as ‘major’ can be occasionally heard.
